From our families to yours, we hope you are safe and healthy.

During this period of homeschooling and social distancing, we trust Scouting is a positive distraction for you, and that our collective mission of creating future leaders is moving forward.

If you are an essential worker, especially someone in health-care, thank you for your service.

In mid-March, the Garden State Council announced a suspension of in-person Scouting through April 30. To support continued mitigation efforts, the Garden State Council is extending the suspension of in-person Scouting through May 31, 2020.

All unit, district, and council in-person events that were scheduled in May should be converted to virtual meetings/events or postponed.

The Council will make a decision prior to Memorial Day regarding in-person Scouting programs through the summer, including summer camp. The Council is preparing to execute its planned summer activities including Cub Scout Day Camp and Scouts BSA resident camp at Camp Roosevelt. Any changes to these plans will be communicated before the end of May.

During this unique time, we are inspired by the overwhelming Scout Spirit on display.

Families and units “Scout On!” everyday and are taking advantage of the regularly updated resources at the “Scout On! Hub:” http://gardenstatescouting.org/scout-online

Whether for service projects, Cub Scout adventures, NOVA Awards, merit badges, virtual camp outs, or volunteer training, there are robust offerings online to help you “Scout On!”

Employees of the Garden State Council will continue to work from home as long as the suspension of in-person Scouting activities is in effect. For service, contact your district-serving executive or the Service Center at 609-261-5850.
